The AM3-4AP responder is a 4-wire analog unit. It is designed to be placed anywhere
in the network and can be configured to respond to DTMF digits, whereby it will then send a
known signal or sequence of test tones.
- How Does It Work?

Each AM3-4AP responder is a DTMF commandable, addressable, 4-wire unit. It is
transparent to data passing through it until it receives a specific sequence of five DTMF digits. These digits
include the address of the unit and a command instruction.
- What Does It Do?

The AM3-4AP provides the user with the capability of testing a network end-to-end
without the need for a service technician.
- What Can It Test?

An AM3-4AP provides the following test functionality:
- Ability to test any network without the need to dispatch a field technician.
- Send 1004 Hz
- Send Slope Tones
- Quiet Terminate the Circuit
- Go into Loopback
- Send 4 Tone NLD
